The Shadow Aspect. That’s a Jungian notion, eh? Jungian. Jung. Do you think? Nooooooo! That’s too damn obvious. Couldn’t be. Go play at the playground now.

It’s people! Sorry. Couldn’t resist. Was that insensitive? Did I trigger you, bro? Go shout it atop Tumblr. In the meantime, back to business. Orochi was filling its machines with meat, and one of their scientists went cookoo. I’d like to know more about this Shadow. Grizzly stuff. I’d like to follow up on these Jungian psychology and Communal Unconscious ideas. Look into it. It’s already happy hour over here, so this message may be slightly loopy. If you want to keep the crazy away in this business, I recommend a lot of high-grade alcohol and gallows humor. Zurn says, “It’ll give you +5 on your next SAN check.” I don’t know what the fuck that means. Ciao-ciao.

Jungian psychology breaks down personalities into archetypes. Egyptian spirituality breaks down the soul into independent parts. Someone at Vali seems to have tried combining these two notions with technology. Fascinating. And disturbing. I should like to know more about this "Shadow".

Intro

Security Five: This unit is approached by a flesh and bone entity. Halt.
Security Five: Scanning for Filth corruption –
Security Five: full anatomy scan, level seven...
Security Five: Scan complete. Life form is biological.
Security Five: Life form is...uh...
Security Five: Your bone mass is at...acceptable mass-ie-ness.
Security Five: Uhm...your cellular levels are...
Security Five: that is...your, uh...protein count is...
Security Five: Scan confirms you are one of the good guys. Anyway...
Security Five: This unit is curious about the Orochi model cyborgs.
Security Five: The cyborgs were the first technological units corrupted by the Filth.
Security Five: The Filth then evolved to corrupt other forms of technology.
Security Five: But why were the cyborgs first?
Security Five: This unit suspects the cyborgs contain the key to further knowledge.
Security Five: What is their nature?
Security Five: Are they mostly robotics containing some meat?
Security Five: Or are they organisms covered in some metal?
Security Five: Ugh...like walking cans of meat.
Security Five: Robo-SPAM. That's totes gross!
Security Five: That is to say, the process of constructing such units may be highly unsanitary.
Security Five: Incoming data.
Security Five: A nearby hospital made many deliveries to the downtown Vali building in the months preceding the Filth explosion.
Security Five: This unit hypothesizes a connection to the cyborgs.
Security Five: Using a GPS connection, this unit has pinpointed the last location of the delivery ambulance.
Security Five: This unit hypothesizes that we will find more data there.
Security Five: This unit thinks the two of us should go check that out.
Security Five: Like...now. For serious.

Tier 1

As player approaches highway

Security Five: The signal is coming from the highway.
Security Five: Perhaps the ambulance was up there when the bridges out of Kaidan were bombed.
Security Five: This unit is certain that this obstacle is not insurmountable.

As player approaches hospital

Security Five: The Vali building is nearby.

Tier 2

Security Five (texted): This unit detects you have entered the hospital. This unit will join you shortly. This unit is never late. This unit is never early. This unit arrives precisely when it means to.
Security Five: This unit suspects it is too large to enter.

After that problem resolves

Security Five: This unit will help you.

Facing danger

Security Five: Does not compute.

Instructed to attack

Security Five: Target locked
Security Five: Initiating "frag-target" protocol.

Asked to perform scan

Security Five: Scanning...scanning...
Security Five: Spider senses set to venti level caffeination.

After correct keycode in basement entered:

Security Five: the schematics this unit has accessed for this building
Security Five: indicate that this is where the organs and bodies brought from the hospital are delivered.

After shrine is destroyed:

Security Five: This unit fears the population of Cold Storage has responded to you opening the door.
Security Five: Please follow this unit.
Security Five: Shiz just got real!
Security Five: That is...you must escape.
Security Five: This unit will hold them here.
Security Five: Get out, before they can kill you.

After player escapes:

Security Five: You didn't think I could come back?
Security Five: Consciousness skips between machines. I just moved to a new body.
Security Five: Perhaps you're thinking about this whole immortality thing from the wrong angle?
Security Five: Just a thought!
