Challenges are Daily objectives that players can complete for additional rewards, such as Marks of Favor.
A list of currently active challenges can be found in the Challenge Journal.
Daily Challenges
There will be 5 Daily Challenges listed in the Challenge Journal. The list of daily challenges is changed each morning at 10:00 GMT, and your Challenge Journal will also give a "Time Remaining" countdown so you don't have to convert it to your local time zone.
The list of daily challenges include:

Bonus Challenges
There will also be 5 Bonus Challenges that appear in the Challenge Journal once all of the first 5 basic challenges are completed. The bonus challenges are reset at the same time as the Daily Challenges. They are restarted at that time, and disappear from the Challenge Journal again until the new Daily Challenges are completed
