The ghosts in the Franklin Mansion are restless. What does it take to spook a ghost?
Dialogue
Initial Cutscene
- Eleanor Franklin: Fancy them carrying on upstairs like that! Stomping around and slamming doors!
- Eleanor Franklin: It reminds me why Ed and I agreed on no rugrats. At least not until we could move back to Long Island...
- Eleanor Franklin: What do you supposed it takes to spook a ghost?
- Eleanor Franklin: I'm not digging out that Ouija board to find out.
- Eleanor Franklin: I've already got enough sorrows to last the rest of this lifetime.
- Eleanor Franklin: I do feel a responsibility for them. They have as much claim to the house as me.
- Eleanor Franklin: Besides, if they're upset, the cats are upset, and if the cats are upset... And so on.
- Eleanor Franklin: That big storm got them in a frenzy, both the ghosts and the cats, and then again a few nights ago -
- Eleanor Franklin: come to think of it, the night I heard an almighty commotion down the road.
- Eleanor Franklin: They wouldn't stop yowling until the next morning.
- Eleanor Franklin: When even the ghosts are spooked, it's probably not a good sign.
Journal Entries
- Tier 1: Eleanor said the ghosts started getting restless during the big storm, and then again a few nights ago, when at the same time she heard a lot of commotion just down the road. She's not digging out the Talking Board to find out, but somebody else could.
- Find the board
- Use the board
- Tier 2: As you set the board up, the pieces came to life.
- Find the location indicated by the board
- Tier 3: At the location spelled out by the board, you found an Orochi vehicle, crashed and abandoned in a ditch. Search the site for an explanation.
- Find a clue about the protocols used by the Orochi team
- Find a clue about what the van carried
- Find a clue about where the spirit went
- Tier 4: From the look of things, the Orochi van was carrying a captive spirit. They had been doing experiments on it, experiments involving Filth. It's pretty clear that the spirit broke free, leaving nothing but devastation in its wake. Something like that still at large could mean big trouble.
- Find out where the spirit went
- Examine the corpse
- Find the spirit's hiding place
- Tier 5: The spirit fled to the crypt behind the Franklin mansion. Recent events must have disturbed someone who was once buried here. She will be a danger to all unless banished.
- Banish the angry spirit
- Return to the realm of the living
Reward
XP per tier:
- 104,890 XP upon completion of Tiers 1 thru 4
- 419,580 XP upon completion of Tier 5
Report
Dragon
The Orochi Group's direction of testing is not unprecedented. Experimenting with worldly effects on the non-corporeal is something we have been doing for centuries. With mixed success.
The most difficult part is usually to safely secure the data, something the Orochi researchers seem to have found out the hard way.
Our intervention, on the other had, was timely, and allowed us to secure the data with minimal risk. All according to plan.
Your ability to pop up in the right place at the right time is getting increasingly predictable. You are becoming less and less of an unknown factor in out models every day. This is pleasing.

Bringing in a wraith to test the effects of Filth on the non-corporeal. Damn! Say what you will about the R&D divisions of the Orochi Group, but they've got some massive cojones. I almost feel a small rush of professional envy coming on, but that obviously went right out the window when I saw how hard this thing blew up in their faces.
Luckily we were there to reap the benefit of their hard work. Well played. You're really getting into the spirit of this thing (no pun intended)!
Your current attitude is what I've been trying to instill in you all along; maximum reward for minimal effort and without any kind of inconvenient headcount to negotiate after the fact. You're in the zone, champ. Keep it up.

“For they sow wind, and reap tempest.” Hosea 8:7
They wanted to test the Filth's effect on the non-corporeal. A bold move, but as you have seen also a terribly dangerous one. Makes you shudder at the thought of what they'll try next.
I must say I am very pleased at how you handled this. The research you secured is valuable, the glimpse into the extent of Orochi research on the Filth priceless. That you cleaned up the debris left by their brazen effort is an added bonus. My faith in you is really starting to pay off.
