Biohazard Container
Biohazard Containers are basically portable Research data that can be opened and used at a later time. As opposed to normally getting Experience immediately after a mission, or Research data from bags after killing monsters in Kaidan.
This allows you to save them until you are ready to use them. Either because you want to equip a specific AEGIS controller in order for it to get the Research data, or if your controllers Analysis is almost complete and you want to save the large amount of data in the containers until after you've improved them to the next level and need to start gathering data again (overflow Research data is not saved, but is lost).
Also note that the research data given by the container is per AEGIS Controller active when the container is used. If you only have a controller active on one weapon, you will only gain research data for that controller. The amount is NOT split between controllers if you have one equipped on both weapons. Therefore when opening a container, it is best to have a controller equipped on both your weapons in order to get the most amount of research data possible.
Variants
There are 6 types of Biohazard Containers. They are all functionally the same, and only differ in the amount of research data they contain.
- Small Biohazard Container = 7,641 - 7,662 Research data
- Biohazard Container
- Putrid Biohazard Container - 8,018 - 9,885 Research Data
- Corrupted Biohazard Container = 8,632 - 9,715 Research Data
- Virulant Biohazard Container
- Heavily Corrupted Biohazard Container = 8,026 - 9,851 Research Data
Occasionally the biohazard containers will have items rather than Research data. So far, confirmed is:

Source
- Small, Putrid, Corrupted, and Heavily Corrupted containers can be given as mission rewards at the end of some missions. See Kaidan missions for a list of missions that reward Biohazard Containers
- Regular and Virulent containers can be bought from the Orochi Researcher vendor found in Kaidan near the entrance to Agartha. He sells them for a combination of Sequin of Sunrise and Pax Romana.
