The Whip is the fourth Auxiliary weapon added to the game. Its SP and AP costs are different from the normal weapons and there is a separate Auxiliary Wheel for it. See those articles for more general information about Auxiliary weapons and the Auxiliary Wheel.


In order to get the whip, you must first purchase Issue 6 mission pack from the Item Store. This will give you access to the "The Last Train to Cairo quest chain", which starts with the mission Mean Streets.

You will need to complete Mean Streets, The Prisoner, and A Time to Every Purpose as well as start the The City Beneath Us mission before you can begin to acquire the Whip.

While on Tier 2 of The City Beneath Us, you will need to kill Atenist Excavation Supervisors, which will drop an Atenist Bullwhip. This is an ordinary whip, and cannot be used with your abilities until it has been infused with Anima. Keep it in your inventory while you finish that mission.

After completing Tier 2 of The City Before Us (Note the name, next mission after The City Beneath Us), you will need to stop by the Anima Infuser in that instance before starting Tier 3. Once you have placed the Atenist Bullwhip in the infuser, you will continue on with the The City Before Us mission until Tier 4. At that point, you've returned to the present and the whip has had a few thousand years in the infuser. Unlike normal weapons, you pay 35 SP to gain the skill which counts as Skill Point rank 10 for the weapon you bought. This grants access to equip the weapon, and provide a special skill for that weapon.

The Whip skill causes your flames to ignite enemies, causing them to to take damage over time. Purchasing this skill gives Unknown

All active skills in the Whip category require the use of a Whip as the player's equipped Auxiliary weapon.

Passive skills do not require the weapon to be equipped. However, to date all aux weapon passive abilities modify skills or abilities specific to its weapon. As such, equipping another weapon's passives would be a waste.
