REPEATABLE (Recommended Level 10)
As an epicenter of early Illuminati history in the New World, Kingsmouth is still full of signs and symbols. Understanding their hidden message could unearth ancient secrets left by the Illuminati fathers.
Tier 1
Henry Hawthorne said the founding fathers of Kingsmouth left clues to forgotten secrets all over town. Follow the traces of the Illuminati to uncover their mysteries.
  • Follow the Illuminati symbols
  • Examine the plaque on the ground
Tier 2
The plaque reads:

"In the seat of power, the navigator immortalized

Illuminating the path

To the sleeping priest and fletcher

In memory of Frans Hals, who persihed in light (1580-1666)"

  • Find the location referenced in the message
Tier 3
A note stuck to the back of the painting reads: "Time is the province of Kings and Gods. The hands of time point to truths written by kings in the words of God. The path is open to the enlightened."
  • Find the next hidden location
  • Enter the basement
Tier 4
The cryptic trail ends in the basement of the Priest House. A computer in the basement is turned on, but locked. Figure out the password to get access.
  • Use the computer
Tier 5
Entering the correct password unlocked a hidden safe. Strange artifacts are stored inside. They could turn out to be valuable.
  • Collect the Eye artifact
  • Collect the Pyramid artifact
  • Collect the Phoenix artifact

There are 5 tiers to this mission

Tier 1/5

  • Follow Illuminati symbols
First symbol is on the manhole outside of the church.
Each manhole points to the next through the top corner of the Illuminati's triangle
The manhole covers will lead you to the dock house near the Lady Margaret, at (513,288)
  • Examine the plaque on the ground

Tier 2/5

  • Find the location referenced in the message
"The seat of power"
The seat of power is the Kingsmouth Town Hall
Frans Hals was a famous painter
For a painter to immortalize someone, they paint a portrait
Head to the Kingsmouth Town Hall and use the picture in the back-right corner of the room. It is the only picture that is also a portrait. It will give you this clue: "Time is the province of Kings and Gods. The hands of time point to truths written by kings in the words of God. The path is open to the enlightened."''

NOTE: Selecting the wrong thing can give you a "false" objective. You must complete that objective before attempting
False Objective Solutions
No mariner would go to sea unsupplied
Go to Dufresne & Son Marine Supplies
There were no shortage of volunteers for the burning
Go to the Kingsmouth Volunteer Fire Department
Oil and gas
Go to the Sycoil Gas Station
Clam and perl
Go to Pam the Clam

Tier 3/5

  • Find the next hidden location
"Hands of time" refers to a clock
The clock in the Kingsmouth Town Hall are stuck at 10:10
"words of God" refers to the Christian Bible
"written by kings" refers to the one of the "Book of Kings" in the Christian Bible
Christian bibles are notated as "Chapter:Verse", similar to clock time notation
There are multiple books in the Christian Bible that relate to "Kings", the one you want is "1 Kings"
Search for 1 Kings 10:10 online and you will see "And she gave the king 120 talents of gold, large quantities of spices, and precious stones. Never again were so many spices brought in as those the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
King Solomon was considered a prophet, or priest
Solution Part 1
King Solomon - Solomon Priest. So, head to the Priest House and you'll see a door to the basement behind it with a keypad next to it.
Solution Part 2
From the bible quote, "120 talents of gold" - the code is 120

Tier 4/5

  • Use the computer
You'll need to figure out the password
Priests often speak in Latin
The hint says "Light conquers all" which in Latin is "Lux Omnia Vincit", the same quote as seen on the Illuminati manhole covers at the start of your investigation
  • Select #1 (Access Secure Artifacts)

The trouble with Illuminati labyrinths is they all lead to something. It reeks of desperation. However, Kingsmouth is their world, and we must accept to navigate it.

Inevitably, there will be more Illuminati codes to break in the future, ones that do not lead to mere material gains. Learn to see through their paranoid and burdened way of thinking, and their world will be yours to manipulate.

In the meantime, remember to bring these artifacts when you return. The Illuminati will blame the Templars for having taken them, for no one suspects the Dragon.

If you wanted the keys to the family basement, you just had to ask. Though it was super cute watching you solve our own puzzles.

As should be apparent by now, we have a thing for labyrinths. Stems from a healthy cultivation of paranoia, malice and wit.

That said, there may be Illuminati puzzles in the future that we don't have the answers to. Our historical archives are incomplete. Many Kingsmouth records were charred in the fire of 1712 and the digital transfer of compromised ancient material never goes seamlessly, regardless of what Cassini may have you believe.

This is a splendid discovery! Gladstone will be eager to analyse these artifacts upon your return. I hope you don't think of it as pilfering. We do not pilfer; we valorise. We shall certainly do better than tossing these ancient items in some dank and forgotten cellar.

Knowing the Illuminati, there is a better than even chance they belong to us anyway.

I must admit to having given up on the fruitfulness of your expedition, but I'm glad you persevered. One suspects this won't be the last Illuminati code we shall have to break.

Henry Hawthorne: Kingsmouth is a book of secrets, an Illuminated manuscript waiting for those who would read between the lines.
Henry Hawthorne: I've seen it spelled out. The hidden truth of this ... this blighted Garden of Eden.
Henry Hawthorne: For are we not seekers of knowledge, you and I?
Henry Hawthorne: Even a man of God can have his eyes opened to further enlightenment and Illumination.
Henry Hawthorne: To be illuminated. Under the eye.
Henry Hawthorne: The pyramid?
Henry Hawthorne: The Illuminati. I'm with the Illuminati.
Henry Hawthorne: I don't have a badge or anything like that. I'm what you might call a, uh, a hobbyist member.
Henry Hawthorne: But I earned it. I did extensive research on the net.
Henry Hawthorne: The code words I followed led me to forums - secret forums, forums that don't show up on Google.
Henry Hawthorne: And I'm an avid poster. A valued poster.
Henry Hawthorne: I know there are paths in Kingsmouth not on any map. The work of the Illuminati is everywhere.
Henry Hawthorne: A secret gospel, chapter and verse, throughout the town. Signs and formulae.
Henry Hawthorne: That's why you're here isn't it?
Henry Hawthorne: Now, my work is not... exhaustive. There are elements of their-- of OUR grand plan I may have overlooked.
Henry Hawthorne: Tiny, tiny details still left unexplored.
Henry Hawthorne: I trust we have each other's disclosure.
