Dialogue

Introduction

Nefertari the younger: (apparently talking to herself) Closer. Closer.
Nefertari the younger: Oh. Try the other side, then.
Nefertari the younger: What about the gates?
Nefertari the younger: Really? Are you sure?
Moutnefert: Who are you talking to, little one?
Nefertari the younger: Oh, just the animals.
Moutnefert: What are they saying?
Nefertari the younger: Somebody's stealing.
Moutemouia: Stealing what?
Nefertari the younger: Secrets.
Moutemouia: What secrets? Wait...from the Hall of Lost Records?
Nefertari the younger: Someone's broken through the gates.
Moutemouia: What about the defences inside?
Moutemouia: Have they broken through to the inner hall?
Nefertari the younger: I'll ask.
Nefertari the younger: Go inside, little ones.
Nefertari the younger: A little further...please. I know you are scared.
Nefertari the younger: The scarabs say it's all open, and full of thieves.
Moutemouia: We have to reactivate the safeguards. Can we do it from here?
Nefertari the younger: The animals are helping, but they're afraid.
Nefertari the younger: They can't do it on their own.
Moutemouia: Then we need help, before they remove anything else from the Hall of Lost Records.
Moutemouia: Before the animals are driven out.
Moutnefert: And before those forbidden secrets are revealed.

The most sublime of Egyptian chambers are those that were never meant to be seen. The pyramids are glorious, but entirely too conspicuous - too eager to please.

It is difficult to attribute the Halls of Lost Records to a maker. The cavities in the ground - and all they held - existed long before Akhenaten lined them with walls or the Marya warded their riches.

Their location in the Valley of Kings has everything to do with the history of the valley, and not of its mortal kings. It was prophesied that the secrets stored within would be found by initiates of the order who placed them there. But there was no order, and so the prophecy taught us that they were never meant to be discovered. We must retrieve what was taken, and then find the strength to lose it forever.

We plundered Egypt for years and probably should have stuck to it. You know how it goes: restructuring, shift in priorities, Byzantium, etc. The important thing is that we're back now and motivated to make up for lost opportunities.

Unfortunately, it's the Atenists who are amassing one hell of a private collection. We're tracking the black market for whatever was taken from the Halls of Lost Records, but frankly I'm not even sure what we're looking for. My spook says I'll know it when I see it.

Your operation hasn't been a completely bust. We're cross-referencing your observations with our old Cayce files and coming up with some exciting new projections.

Halls such as these - elaborate underground shrines and mausoleums - are meant to preserve all that is most precious to the Egyptians. We were on the trail of one such chamber beneath the paws of the Great Sphinx. Entirely unremarkable, as it turns out.

Much of what these halls contain is ethereal and intended to serve rites of initiation. Before the site was liberated by the Marya, Akhenaten of course had terribly perverse notion of what that meant.

As for the secrets that were not ethereal - relics that were purportedly buried long before the age of Akhenaten - I cringe to think that they are all gone, and dare not imagine the parameters of their application.

Trivia

  • The "Cayce" referenced in the Illuminati report most likely refers to Edgar Cayce who was a famous American psychic. One of his prophecies included "There will come a time when the sun will be darkened. This will signify a spiritually-awakening event. "
