Tier 1
Those who are connected to Gaia stand a better chance of contacting the sasquatch, who are also among the Earth's favourites. Study the tactical map to find out where they are located.
  • Study the tactical map
  • Locate the Sasquatch Glade
Tier 2
The sasquatch seem wary, but not hostile. Try making contact with their leader and establish some sort of communication with them.
  • Make contact with the Sasquatch Chief
Tier 3
Large cocoons hang from the entrance of a dark, foreboding cave - a sure sign of trouble ahead. Get ready for a fight and enter the cave.

  • Explore the Ak'ab Abyss
  • (0/7) Free sasquatch victims
  • (0/7) Kill Nubilous Brood Feeders
Tier 4
The captured sasquatch are returning to safety, but the ak'ab threat is far from over. The cave is a festering burrow. Everywhere, cocoons are pulsing with dark life. The large one by the entrance could hatch any minute and must be dealt with.
  • Destroy the Giant Ak'ab Cocoon near the cave entrance
  • Kill the Nubilous Brood Premature Queen
Tier 5
Now that the new ak'ab queen is dead, the imminent threat to the sasquatch is over, or at least delayed.
  • Return to the Sasquatch Chief

Walkthrough

There are 5 tiers to this mission.

Tier 1/5

  • Study the tactical map
    • The area is marked on your map
    • It's next to a laptop near Karen Olson at (440,227)
  • Locate the Sasquatch[1] Glade
    • The area is marked on your map at (748,97)
    • Be watchful of bear traps on the ground. They will impair you.
    • If you have trouble getting there, check the media section below.

Tier 2/5

  • Make contact with the Sasquatch Chief
    • The area is marked on your map at (740,106)
    • Simply walk up to him
  • Search the area that the Sasquatch Chief indicated
    • The area is marked on your map at (774,21)
    • Walk south and up the hill, keep left until you pass a sasquatch guard, you should see a cave on your right
    • Interact with the Ak'ab Cocoon


Tier 3/5

  • Enter the cave
    • Continue into the cave, approach the area that is bio-luminescent and you will be prompted to enter the The Ak'ab Abyss (Solo Instance) instance.
    • There is no map available within the instance.
  • Explore the Ak'ab Abyss
    • Head north and then turn east and enter the first room, the mission will update as you approach the Sasquatch Prisoner
  • Free sasquatch victims
  • Kill Nubilous Brood Feeders
    • Each victim (Labeled "Sasquatch Prisoner") is guarded by a Nubilous Brood Feeder
    • After killing the feeder, interact with the sasquatch who will then run out of the cave
    • You do not need to protect the victims once freed

Tier 4/5

  • Destroy the Giant Ak'ab Cocoon near the cave entrance
    • If you follow the last freed victim, you'll be lead back towards the entrance
    • The Giant Ak'ab Cocoon is located at (200,202)
    • New enemies will have respawned
  • Kill the Nubilous Brood Premature Queen

Tier 5/5

  • Return to the Sasquatch Chief
    • Exit the Ak'ab Abyss
    • From where you fought the queen, head west out of the room and then turn south, the exit point has a splash of sunlight reaching the cave floor at (187,189).
    • Back in Blue Mountain head back down the hill to the Sasquatch Chief, the mission will complete as soon as you walk up to him.

The DHS shouldn't even be out there. The only thing they're equipped for is getting in our way. But Karen knows this, and she's a good little soldier for banging her head against the wall. Can't be easy trying to drag Sarge into the 20th century.

Tell her we'll do lattes next time she's in town. That should cheer her up.

Protecting the furries does not fall under the umbrella of things I care about - God, you'd think Darwin was mandatory reading by now - but I can always leverage your actions with the DHS. And I'll have Karen pay for the lattes, so I guess it's not a total loss. But do try to stay on message.

The soldier might have a point, however crude his presentation. If helping the sasquatch stand their ground against the insects allows us bit more freedom to go about our business, then it warrants some merit. Some.

Navigating the internal squabbles of governmental agencies is a practice we’ve long abandoned. We have to assume we’re right, and they’re wrong. At least most of the time.

Even if appearing to cooperate might seem beneficial, I encourage you not to yield too much ground. Our agents will always trump theirs. It’s also a matter of appearances.

Intro

As Sarge speaks, it is another Secret Worlder.

Sarge: At ease, soldier.
Sarge: Christ, kid, I can see your lips moving. This is all Uncle Sam could muster up?
Sarge: You oughta know better than most that it's not about numbers.
Sarge: You got... What is it that you've got? Magic wand? Voodoo?
Sarge: Well, we got guns... guns with special bullets.
Sarge: Bullets that open you up form the inside out, bullets that bring on pain and fire and darkness.
Sarge: Magic bullets straight out of the Pentagon's darkest dungeons...

A blonde woman walks up to you, flashing an ID.

Karen Olson: Karen Olson, Department of Homeland Security.
Karen Olson: Hi there, how are you? Great, let's take a walk shall we?

Karen takes your arm and begins walking away from Sarge.

Karen Olson: We're of course extremely excited to have you guys on board. Extremely excited.
Karen Olson: United against, etcetera. An enemy of my enemy and so on. Couldn't be happier. But.
Karen Olson: We don't want to end up in a... a situation. We like to keep our cabalist relations civil.
Karen Olson: It can happen to the best of us you know, combat situation, tense nerves and - Bam!
Karen Olson: We have to deal with a trimentional rift, things oozing through, tentacles, that sort of thing.
Karen Olson: I just need to make absolutely sure we're on the same page.'
Karen Olson: We need to keep out of each other's way, leave the war to the professionals, etcetera.
Karen Olson: I can't give you an order because, you know, obviously. But.
Karen Olson: Let's just say that any civilian interference to sanctioned military activies on this island
Karen Olson: will be treated as a very real and present threat to the security of our homeland.
Karen Olson: It could end up backfiring in a bad way,
Karen Olson: when you don't have the authorisation from Homeland Security to operate ab-grade military software...
Karen Olson: on U.S. soil. Even if it is in Maine.
Karen Olson: Oh, but I hear Egypt is really nice this time of year and, you know.
Karen Olson: We don't like to get involved over there so, it's all on you guys. Best of luck!

Her threat delivered, Karen walks off and you look back at Sarge.

Sarge: Our only line of defence is those filthy orangutans -
Sarge: God damn foul smelling apes is what they are -
Sarge: and I'm not sure how long they'll last.
Sarge: But you know what they say: My enemy's enemy is my friend.
Sarge: Unfortunately, we got no lines of communication - we don't speak monkey -
Sarge: but I know you folks are "in touch with Gaia.

  • Once you've killed the Nubilous Brood Queen the various Sasquatch outside guarding the glade will no longer growl threateningly at you when you pass by them.
