The Cage Master Starter Deck is designed to be a high-damage melee fighter, specializing in applying Afflictions to supplement their powerful single-target attacks, with plenty of Healing triggers to boost their survivability.

The Cage Master uses a mix of fists and blood magic to dominate opponents in-close. The abilities tend to focus on one opponent at a time and emphasise damage over time effects. Enemies will feel the blows long after they've been delivered. The Cage master can also recover quickly in battle, making use of healing abilities to stay strong in the late rounds.

Strategy

The Cagemaster plays very much like a melee-oriented Haruspex, stacking up Afflictions to maximize their damage potential. Each Affliction they apply deals additional damage and nets them a Penetration bonus, thanks to Unholy Knowledge and Dark Potency, respectively. Each attack puts a stack on Lick Your Wounds, which serves to maintain an equilibrium, rather than recover lost health.

If the Cagemaster needs to recover, Angelic Aegis is best used either close to full health, or near death, thanks to Out of the Woods and Angel's Touch. Anywhere between those two extremes, and it loses the additional effectiveness provided by those two passive abilities.

  • Claw - [1 AP, Active, Single Attack, Single] - A single target fist weapon attack that deals a moderate amount of damage. Builds a weapon resource for each equipped weapon.
  • Blood Spike - [1 AP, Active, Single Attack, Single] - A single target blood magic attack that deals a large amount of damage and damage over time. Sets afflicted state. Conditional effects. Consumes two blood magic resources.
  • Wild at Heart - [4 AP, Active, Single Attack, Single, Effect: Feral Regrowth] - A single target fist weapon attack that deals a large amount of damage. Grants Feral Regrowth. Consumes all fist weapon resources.
  • Hog Wild - [1 AP, Active, Blast, Cone AoE] - A fist weapon blast that deals a large amount of damage in a cone in front of you. Grants Savage Sweep. Consumes all fist weapon resources.
  • Angelic Aegis - [2 AP, Active, Direct Heal, Single] - A large single target blood magic heal that also places an absorb barrier on your defensive target. Consumes three blood magic resources.
  • Pack Leader - [2 AP, Active, Buff, Group] - Increases the hit chance of everyone in your group for a short time.
  • Go for the Throat - [7 AP, Elite Active, Single Attack, Single] - A single target fist weapon attack that deals a moderate amount of damage and locks all the target's active abilities for a short time. Sets impaired state.

Passive

  • Sharp Claws - [1 AP, Passive, Single Attack, Single Target, Modifies: Claw] - Claw also deals damage over time. Sets afflicted state.
  • Predator - [4 AP, Passive, Single Attack, Single Target] - Increases all damage dealt by fist weapon abilities
  • Lick Your Wounds - [1 AP, Passive, Single Attack, Single Target] - Whenever you successfully hit a target, you get a small heal over time effect.
  • Dark Potency - [2 AP, Passive, Single Attack, Single Target] - Whenever you set afflicted state, you have an increased penetration chance for a short time.


  • Angel's Touch - [3 AP, Passive, Single Attack, Single Target, Modifies: Angelic Aegis] - Angelic Aegis heals targets with low health for an extra amount.
  • Out of the Woods - [7 AP, Elite Passive, Single Attack, Single Target] - Whenever you heal a target to close to full health, all your direct heals on that target are increased for a short time
