Though the Atlantic Island park has be derelict for years, Winter notes that its Ferris wheel remains powered - the same Ferries wheel where you encountered a dark entity. Could it be the source of the park's evil?

Dialogue Scene Name

Nicholas Winter: "Huh, where the hell...the hell is it? I knew I left it right... Oh god, the stench. (clears throat) "...to my son, Nicholas James Winter..." Blah-blah-blah. Where is it, where is it, Dad… Ah. "I leave my masterpiece, the Atlantic Island Park, to be restored according to...according to my original plans..."? What fucking plans, Dad? Uh, how did it go? Ah, don't tell me, I'm not blind or deaf. I don't believe it's a coincidence those things are drawn to the rides. The fog came the day we got here. I was supposed to fly in, but the airport was closed, so we drove all the way up from Portland. Less than an hour later, it rolled in like an avalanche. Wahid here decided to stay in the car. I headed for the highest place I could find. I didn't think of it at the time, what with those animals at my feet, but it's weird that the wheel's still working after all this time. Сan't imagine the power's still on. At least not the electrical power. But that's not what this place runs on, is it? He stayed behind - my father, Nathaniel Winter - when everyone else left. And not because he didn't have anything else. He had his empire. His money. My mother. He had me. But this... is the only thing he wanted. It kept him alive for over a century. It gave him power. I'm still not convinced he's not here; somewhere, feeding on the ghosts of lost children like some kind of bogeyman. What the hell are you looking at? This is private property, you know."

[The item mission Winter's Legacy appears to have been folded into this one at some point pre-launch, and unique mission reports relevant to this mission remained attached to that one for some time.]

There are many mirrors of reality, all flawed, distorted. Made imperfect by their resistance to change. The night terror you entered could not be permitted to exist. It was the creation of a parasite, one that took root decades ago.

It had no strategy, made no plan. It was a hole left unfilled, a trap left abandoned. A foolish fear of the past.

If the Dragon imparts a lesson to the world, it is to never fear the past. Great fear and great anticipation is better directed at the future, the future soon to be wrought.

I called it, clowns = serial killers.

No wonder the Winter clan has some serious daddy issues. This probably explains why none of the siblings have kids, too. Could be a useful in for Nicky Winter's fortune. Priorities for recruitment have shifted since we gave his pop the cold shoulder, I mean look at you.

On topic, let's assume you just nailed up the final Out of Business sign for Atlantic Park. I'll feed that into the liability pie charts, which FYI at the moment are looking like we'll be advising the Pentagon not to sink the island.

Let us hope this nightmare carnival has ended. The Boogeyman is a particularly loathsome entity, attaching itself like a tick to childish terrors.

Its sadism knows no bounds, and those brutalised by it are seldom the same again. Many go on to continue its cycle of abuses, passing on its sickness from the secret world to the mundane one. Beyond our remit.

But the creature is in decline. Once it found harbour under every bed, in every cupboard, but now its haunts are few and far between. You have contributed to rooting it out of another.

There are 5 tiers to this mission.

Tier 1/5

  • Go to the Ferris Wheel
  • Ride the Ferris Wheel (Atlantic Park Shadow Solo Instance)

Tier 2/5

  • Free the Laughter of Children (follow waypoint to bumper cars)
  • Note: Kill 3 Spectral Enslavers then destroy statue in bumper car area

Tier 3/5

Tier 4/5

  • Follow the Bogeyman
  • Free the Terror of Children
  • Note: Kill the mob then destroy the statue. Bogeyman will manifest in same area. Be prepared for immediate battle with him.

Tier 5/5

  • Destroy the Bogeyman (Beware the "blue aura" attack, nearly certain death in area ... RUN!)
    • Despite the extreme range of the 'Blue Aura' attack, it is readily avoidable by placing an obstacle between oneself and the Bogeyman - say, one of the area's park gates through which the player most likely just entered.
  • Collect the odd monocle (inside ruins behind [Bogeyman]])
  • Use the portal by the Ferris Wheel to return
