Mission Action.png The Pagans       Main Mission
REPEATABLE (Recommended Level 50)
Ricky Pagan's gang, The Pagans, was split up during the Tokyo incident. Now Ricky wants to know the ultimate fate of his rockabilly buddies.
Tier 1
Use his boombox to send out the call and find his old gang.
  • Take the Boombox with the Pagan's Mixtape
  • Examine the dance studio flyer
  • Go to the Rioting Sole Dance Studio
  • Play a track on the boombox to see if any of The Pagans are inside
  • Survive the assault
  • Take the jacket (60 second timer)
  • Examine the note
  • Show Image: Dance Studio Flyer
Tier 2
According to the note found outside the Rioting Sole Dance Studio, The Pagans are scattered across Kaidan. Checking their last known locations seems to be the best option.
  • Head to Raizo's last known location
  • Play the boombox to see if Raizo is around
  • Avenge Raizo
  • Recover Raizo's jacket
  • Show Image: The Pagans Officer Roll Call
Tier 3
Two down and three to go. The Pagans aren't exactly weathering the storm well, but there is still some hope that at least one of them is still alive. Time to search for the one that they call "Angry Feet".
  • Travel to Angry Feet's last known location
  • Play the boombox to see if Angry Feet is around
  • Destroy Angry Feet
  • Recover Angry Feet's jacket (60 second timer)
Tier 4
At least one of The Pagans spent a lot of time at Susanoos diner. That might be the best place to try to find them.
  • Travel to Susanoo's Diner
  • Use the Boombox to find Aoi
  • Listen to Aoi
    • Aoi was alive, but has decided to dedicate herself to the teachings (and comparative safety) of the Jingu clan. She threw her jacket into a nearby dumpster - recover it from there.
  • Get Aoi's jacket from the dumpster
Tier 5
There is only one Pagan left to find, Big Johnny Kaiju. Apparently he was holed up with his lady at her apartment over near the main plaza.
  • Head to Johnny's last known location
  • Locate Big Johnny in the alley
  • Take Big Johnny's jacket
    • It seems that Big Johnny has also been infected by the filth. Destroy him and recover his jacket.
  • Destroy Big Johnny
  • Take Big Johnny's jacket
    • The story of The Pagans is a sad one. Most of them dead, one of them gone and Ricky Pagan is a one man show. Return the jackets to Ricky to let him know the fate of his former companions.
  • Return to Ricky Pagan with the jackets
  • Join the Pagans for a final dance

Let me tell you a story.

Once there was a boy who didn't care for music. He asked for a bicycle for his birthday. He received a guitar. Eventually, he learned to play it and went on to become famous across the world. Some people called him The King.

He had a brother, stillborn according to all medical reports. This brother was carried to another land and given a new life and a new name. He became a businessman in Tokyo, and an important figure in the Tokyo aerospace industry. All his life, people would comment on his resemblance to The King.

He married a local woman and had a son that he named Ryuichi.

This is our model. Our labor bears fruit.

This just goes to show that our cultural propaganda agenda is working, even decades after it began. What? You didn't know Elvis worked for us? You probably think he is dead.

Anyway Zurn almost wet himself when I told him you had managed to make one of the filth dance using a cheap boombox. His exact words were 'if auditory stimulation can awaken latent memory then perhaps upon removal of the filth, the mutations might reverse themselves'.

We knew they weren't zombies. Too much brain activity. But they are far, far more than just psychotic humans. And Ricky got closure too. Heartwarming.

In our rush to save the world, we sometimes forget the legions that have fallen along the way. The Marshals don't approve of the time wasted in the rush to save the world, but I appreciate the occasional sentimental sidetrack.

When I was in Tokyo and the weather was good, Gozen and I would sometimes stroll through Yoyogi Park. There were always three or four gangs dancing in the plaza by the entrance. Perhaps a young Ricky Pagan was there as well, dreaming of a future that could be...

We do what we do to protect the world. Good people die everyday - not heroes, not villans. Just people. But we don't forget. You are a Templar, and you will never walk alone!

Ricky Pagan: A funky interloper approaches!
Ricky Pagan: Intruder, know that this place is protected.
Ricky Pagan: Gatecrasher, know that you face one charged by Amaterasu and blessed by Gaia.
Ricky Pagan: Ginpachi Park's bequiffed, leather-clad environmental vigilante putting the "pomp" in pompadour, RICKY PAGAN!
Ricky Pagan: Thank you, thank you very much.
Ricky Pagan: This park is sacred. Major buku mojo. Ricky Pagan will defend it till the last breath.
Ricky Pagan: Don't make me use my stuff on you, man!
Ricky Pagan: Ricky Pagan's ultra-natural senses tell him that you're here to help. The goddess Amaterasu tells me you are a friend... and maybe... maybe something more.
Ricky Pagan: Ricky Pagan is a one man show. But it wasn't always so.
Ricky Pagan: I used to have a gang, spreading the good word. Rockabilly brought us together.
Ricky Pagan: The Earth Mama bonded us. Amaterasu gave us light. Through the thick and the thin, we stuck together.
Ricky Pagan: Nothing could stop us! We battled the corporate forces of old and evil.
Ricky Pagan: We had the momentum. We made a big splash!
Ricky Pagan: I can still see the high water mark.
Ricky Pagan: Then back the big boom-boom. Ricky Pagan found cover, but... Ricky Pagan couldn't protect them. They... Ricky Pagan couldn't... I mean... I... I... I couldn't save them.
Ricky Pagan: I don't know what happened to them...
Boombox: Your friends are all dead-dead-dead-dead-dead-dead...
Ricky Pagan: No... You... you shut up, now. Ricky Pagan...
Boombox: Your name is Ryuichi Sagawa. Ryuichi Sagawa. Ryuichi Sagawa...
Ricky Pagan: No... shut up. Shut up.
Boombox: Ryuchi Sagawa, you have no power. This is just a park. A pile of sod and shrubs. Amaterasu is something you ate or something you smoked. Or a hard, black tumor in your soft brain-in your brain-in your brain. Your friends died following a lunatic. I saw them suffer-suffer-suffer-suffer...
Ricky Pagan: Enough! Get behind me, Static Satan.
Ricky Pagan: Get out of my box. The power of Rock compels you!
Ricky Pagan: I'll take illusions over lies. I am RICKY PAGAN!
Ricky Pagan: "You'll never walk alone." That's our words, man.
Ricky Pagan: Ricky Pagan has to stay and protect the park, but maybe you can go find my compadres.
Ricky Pagan: If they're alive, you tell them they'll never walk alone.
Ricky Pagan: If they didn't make it, bring me proof: Bring me their leather jackets.
Ricky Pagan: The Pagan gang won't walk alone, not even in death.
Ricky Pagan: When in doubt use the music. Let the music use you.

Encountering Raizo

(Raizo is speaking in Japanese, it is subtitled.)

Raizo: tickles. It's coming! Please. Help me. Help me! It tickles your innards!

Encountering Aoi

Aoi: Ricky sent you, right?
Aoi: Look. I like Ricky. EVERYONE likes Ricky.
Aoi: But you've seen our gang. We're dropping like flies. There's bad things out there, and the great Ricky Pagan can't protect us.
Aoi: I'm going to join the Jingu Clan. It's my best chance.
Aoi: Tell Ricky to be safe. Tell him... I'm sorry.

  • Amaterasu (天照) is a part of the Japanese myth cycle and also a major deity of the Shinto (神道) religion. She is seen as the goddess of the sun, but also of the universe. The name Amaterasu derived from Amateru means "shining in heaven".[1]
  • The voice on the boombox during the introductory cutscene sounds similar to John.
  • Even after you report in to your faction after completing the mission, the Pagans will continue to dance while you're in the area.
