Report

The Atenists are torturing the answers they need out of people – members of the Marya especially. The how, the where, the when. There are devils in the details of delivering something of such magnitude. Having lost a key ally has crippled their ability to proceed.

The child cries each time a prisoner gives up something they know. The child cries many things, including names I was never meant to hear.

At the end of all this a traitor will be revealed. There are many in your midst. You may have met one already – the traitor – he holds the final letter of the name.

Betrayal is inevitable. How you feel about it will depend on where you stand.

God you people are needy. Do I have to hold your hand through this whole thing? Look, unless you’re planning to die in there, you can hold off on the report until you actually know something. What kind of tombs were they talking about in that note? What fucking delivery?

See what I mean? If I wanted vague bullshit I’d get Cassini to hack me into the Dragon’s network. I’m sure their analysis of this situation is all kinds of meaningless.

Fun fact: Once dated a guy named Saddur. Ugh, I really hope it’s not him. Awkward.

The operative words in the orders you recovered were “tombs” and “delivery”. At this point I’m not sure the two are part of the same project. The vast majority of cultist resources in the region are focused on what appears to be an export scenario. However, they also have a smaller research team looking into something called “time tombs”.

Oh my, indeed.

As for the name "Saddur": I’ve heard it somewhere before. I can’t quite pinpoint the details, though I’m certain they’re not pleasant.

Dialogue

Introduction

Nassir, talking to himself in a mirror

Nassir: Are you talking to me? Are you talking to me?
Nassir: Yes, you must be talking to me because I think we are alone now.
Nassir: So tell me punk, are you lucky?
Nassir: Are you feeling lucky... punk?
Noticing you walking up
Nassir: Oh.
Nassir: When this war is over, I want to be taxi driver in New York City.
Nassir: Safe job, no more explosives.
Nassir: Our enemy, he has no soul only darkness inside.
Nassir: He never has to look at his reflection. He never has doubts.
Nassir: It is hard, this life, We make it look easy... but it is hard.
Nassir: For thousands of years, the Marya are here, guarding this valley and its secrets.
Nassir: Sons learn from their fathers, daughters from their mothers.
Nassir: Always we are at war.
Nassir: But never like this. Never so many to fight. Never so many tears.
Nassir: It is my job to put on the brave face.
Nassir: But it is hard.
Nassir: Lucky for me I have war training, eh?
Nassir: Embedded with Special Forces, hunting Jinn in Afghanistan.
Nassir: Like Rambo! They give me the cool sunglasses. (puts sunglasses on)
Nassir: And we do not fight alone. We have new friends!
Nassir: We have you!
