You have fought your way up the Orochi Tower. Where is Lilith? Revelations and danger await you at the very top.

Dialogue

Tier 1

As you step out of the elevator in the Boardroom

Samael: A familiar face. Congratulations. You have come a long way. Which makes it all the more painful to now ask you to kindly turn around. Whatever you do in the Orochi Tower today, I promise you, it will not impact how Orochi conducts business tomorrow. I would save you the time and pain.
Samael: Terrible events have occurred. Lilith has done something misguided and horrific. But I have it in hand now.
Samael: Heroism is my favourite delusion. The posture of your every step betrays it. In a certain Milton-esque light, you may be correct, but your white hat is stained. Your secret society is in the old business of domination. You are the intruder here today. Please leave.
Samael: This does not have to be adversarial. I do not wish to see this planet destroyed any more than your masters do. I’ve put a lot of work into it. Let me be about my business. I’ve been at it… much longer than you.
Samael: There is no dissuading you. Shall we use the opportunity to conduct an experiment? What happens when you set an irresistible force against an immovable object? Did you ever wonder why so many Orochi personnel seem so unprepared for the dangers they faced out in the field? Did you really think you were the only one who could cheat death? Did you think your organization was the only one that could find those individuals whose lips taste of honey? Allow me to introduce you to the Mitsubachi.
Samael: Still you continue. There is an artifact of junk programming in your brain, a broken line of code in the DNA of your species. The irresistible tendency towards self-destruction. You can see this in the repeated atrocities of history or even in the simple act of procrastination. If you see the edge of the abyss, you needs must leap. I have been a facilitator of your kind’s boundless desire to destroy itself. Since the beginning, since iron cathedrals stained the moon red with sacrificial pyres. Since machined cities crossed the seas upon gears and gossamer sail. Even in the hummingbird heartbeat of your recorded time.
Samael: You are an exceptional footnote in a text one could not even leaf through in a star’s life cycle, so I invite you to contemplate how quickly my eyes gloss over you. Don’t take it personally. You are the product of an imperfect creation. Infants abandoned on the doorstep of technology. And now, after all these years, your estranged mother comes back to you, through an insect’s mouth, to tell you she always loved you best. Well. If you believe that, our marketing focus groups would like to hear from you.
Samael: Tenacious and talented. I won’t waste elaborate verbal flourishes. Let me pay you the compliment of being very plain. Lilith has shown a terrible lapse in judgement. It will be dealt with. But she is my wife and off limits to you. I want to be inescapably clear: if you harm her, I will destroy you. There is more than one way to destroy something, whole unknown dimensions of oblivion in varying bites. I know them all.
Samael: If you continue, the person who walked into this building today will no longer exist, and your secret society will come to regret it. I will not hesitate. I will not twirl my moustache. I do NOT make idle threats.

As you enter the Penthouse suite

Samael: You do not understand. Gaia is dying. It is our responsibility to find ways to replace her before it is too late. Lilith was trying to—

Samael is cut off as Uta shoots the monitor.

As you step onto the Balcony

Lilith: Here we are again. How are your legs?

You walk cautiously forward, conjuring fire in one hand while staring warily at Lilith.

Lilith: Have we come to that part already? I’ve done this dance so many times. The game board is wiped clean. The game board is reassembled. It all blurs. But before we dance, this time, maybe I could impart some knowledge to you. I’m not going anywhere.
Lilith: I do apologize if I was a touch melodramatic last time. Bad day. When you cross from Age to Age, you tend to create new version of yourself, and I have been so many me’s. A scientist. A priestess. A ravening monster. Did I seem bad last time? I’ve been much worse. Oh you should have seen me in the Second Age.
Lilith: You should have seen Samael, in the beginning. So terrible. So beautiful. A passion that could extinguish civilizations. It frightened me. Thrilled me. I followed him into eternity on a promise.
Lilith: Where did it all go wrong? Somewhere in the millennia, I realized Samael had lost his rage. It was his fiery words that convinced me to turn against my own species, to tear reality down – all for him – and now he’s grown comfortable in humanity’s world? Betrayal by apathy. Complacency snuffed out his beauty. The promise withered on the vine. I hated him for that. He lost his conviction, but I didn’t. I kept to the old plan.
Lilith: We were so close at the end of the Third Age. We found a Gaia Engine. We had nearly unearthed it. We dug so very carefully. But the Dreaming One stirred to momentary wakefulness. And so very sleepily, it strangled the world.
Lilith: Years passed. A thousand? Time moves strangely when the Ages flip. Again, I searched. Just a century ago, a Norwegian explorer found a city entombed in the ice of Antarctica. He vanished and I spent the next ten decades following his trail. I used a woman, a simplistic fool, to urge Avelline Belmont into doing most of the chasing for me. And I found it. A Gaia Engine buried in the ice. I—
John: Lilith.

A Bird of the Zero Point Pathogen lands on the Balcony, which Lilith promptly weakens before turning back to you.

Lilith: Deal with this, if you want to hear more from me.

After defeating the Bird of the Zero Point Pathogen

Lilith: These creatures are just fragments of Their dreams, you know. This is what They think birds look like. And now… They have human mind in their collective. A new subconscious vocabulary to add to their parlance. What dreams may come?
Lilith: But we were talking about the Gaia Engine. The Orochi Group wanted the Engine to create limitless energy. I wanted it to create the manacles that would chain the Dreaming Ones to my will.
Lilith: Do you honestly think, given the people you work for, that your arrogance is any less than mine? It’s just played out on a much more limited scale.
Lilith: My plans frayed. Then unraveled. The Morninglight slipped my control. Philip Marquard tried to kill me. Me! Bad little cultists. They must be punished. Abandoned by Samael and bereft of the sun cult I’d taken such care in growing, I retreated to the Tower. I’ve expanded my research.
Lilith: I could cleanse the Filth from Tokyo... But to do that, I would need a working Gaia Engine. And to activate an Engine, I would need Emma. I wasn’t lying to you when I said I needed Emma. Oh… but you denied me Emma. You denied Kaidan respite from its nightmare. It would all be over now, but you had the arrogance to interfere in events greater than yourself. You presumptuous—

Lilith takes her phone out of her pocket to reveal a phone call from John.

John: I am the pirate signal. Let me in. I am the word virus. Let me in. I am the ear worm. Let me in. I am the brain pathogen grammar. I am the dreamers’ dream. I am what I am. Let me in – let me in – let me in – let me in. Let me in!

The Filth begins pouring out of the phone, causing Lilith to drop it. Several Shades spawn from the pool that forms.

If The Filth Pools are Dropped Where Lilith is Standing

Lilith: Disgusting.
Lilith: Is everything you do crude, clumsy, and boorish?
Lilith: Those stains never come out.

When a New Type of The Filth Monster Spawns

Lilith: Their dreams birth monsters.
Lilith: Their dreams are terribly virile.

After Defeating the Shades, Bestial Filth, Infected Colossi, and Filthy Amalgam

Lilith: I created a monster. Not for the first time. I handed Marquard the Morninglight on a platter. But he adjusted the doctrine ever so slightly. By subtle degrees, the Morninglight turned on me. I wanted to control the Dreaming Ones. He wants to unleash them all. He’s… communed with them. He wants to become like them. Right now he is the most—

John begins to speak from the mouth of a dead shade in a nearby The Filth pool.

John: Can’t stop it, Lilith. You drink from a broken cup. Everything but everything but everything wakes up.
Lilith: John. Sweet John. I thought you were afraid of me.
John: Oh, I am – I am – I am. But Chuck gave me courage. I gave the blackness a brain. Now all we need is your heart.
Lilith: I vaguely remember you, John. The shy pervert. Search the shallow dung-heap that is your soul and tell me truly if you think you can beat me.
John: I… can’t. Oh, I can’t – I can’t – I can’t. But I don’t have to beat you. I just have to distract you. Until they come.
Lilith: What? No… Not now.

Six Nephilim descend from the heavens on red wings: your previous contact from the Dreamer's Prison stands behind you.

Nephilim Leader: Be not afraid, Lilith. We are past the agency of screams.

Lilith tries to fight, but is quickly overwhelmed.

Lilith: No! NO!!!
Nephilim Leader: Lilith. Screech owl. I bind you. By your seventeen names, I bind you. By your hidden eighteenth name, I bind you. Ki-sikil-lil-la-ke, I bind you!
Nephilim Leader: That Samael should couple with a talking ape…

The leading Niphal turns to you.

Nephilim Leader: You. I smell the Dreaming Ones upon you. They offered you gifts. I smell your choices. Reap what you have sown. Reap what you have sown. Reap what you have sown.

You fall unconscious.

Dreamer: ... remember this...

If You Rejected All Offers From the Dreaming Ones

Grigori (light angel): Be mindful of the voices. They will whisper in your sleep. Make the right choices. And be mindful of the voices. They corrupt.

If You accepted at least one but not all offers from the Dreaming Ones

Grigori (light angel): Be mindful of the voices. They will whisper in your sleep.
Niphal (dark angel): Listen to the voices that whisper in your sleep.
Grigori: Make the right choices.
Niphal: Make the right choices.
Grigori: And be mindful of the voices. They corrupt.
Niphal: And be mindful of the voices that whisper, for they speak the truth.

If You Accepted All Offers From the Dreaming Ones

Niphal (dark angel): Listen to the voices that whisper in your sleep. Make the right choices. Make the right choices. And be mindful of the voices that whisper, for they speak the truth.

After Waking Up

You wake to find Daimon Kiyota kneeling over you.

Daimon: Thought you were pushing up daisies. For keeps. We—Say… You seem…different. This one look different to you, Gozen?

Gozen turns her head and looks away.

Daimon: Come on. You of all people know a little something about this. Inbeda?
Inbeda: (growls)
Daimon: Bunch of sour pusses. Fine. We’re all arch enemies again.

Tier 2

This tier is only available on the player's first time through the mission.

If player reports back to Dragon faction headquarters

Bong Cha bumps into you on her way out of faction headquarters.

Bong Cha: (Korean) Excuse me.

She catches a glimpse of your face, and stops in her tracks.

Bong Cha: Have we met? You seem familiar. This entire place seems familiar. But nobody seems to know me here.
Bong Cha: I don't even remember how I came to be here. I was in the library and, and... I have exams coming up and...

One of the Mute Monks walks up to the two of you. The three of you bow, and he leads Bong Cha out of the room. Daimon Kiyota puts his hand on your shoulder from behind.

Daimon: Forget it, Jake. It's the roulette game. (laughs)
Daimon: Things change. The cylinder spins. Some stamps get cancelled.
Daimon: We're going to do things differently. There's a time to contemplate, to model actions. And there's a time to make action! We're going to rip the wings off butterflies. We're going to flap our own hurricanes.
Daimon: The dark days are gonna be the swingingest whangdoodle of a blow. Let's be mad flappers, you and I. Grab your glad rags. Let's get loaded and jive!
Daimon: The Fool's prerogative. We taint our honour with irreverence, because doing the impossible is a rudeness to reality, because respect will get this planet dead. And so we cleave to the sacred obscenities. (chuckles)
Daimon: It's our turn. The barrel puckers. The cylinder spins.

He directs you to the Child, who is also different (namely older). A Mute Monk hands you a cell phone playing a video of the news, with the banner "Breaking News: Tokyo Bombers Identified".

Voiceover: QBL Media News: We are the world.
Anchor: Tonight's top story:
Anchor: Authorities have identified several individuals connected with the, as yet, unidentified radical political group
Anchor: which made the recent terrorist attack on Kaidan, Tokyo.
Anchor: Authorities have released images of the suspects.

Photos of several TSW players' avatars begin to appear on the screen.

Anchor: The suspects were recently seen in Kaidan,
Anchor: despite the quarantine wall.

The final photograph appears and is a closeup of the player, who reacts in horror.

Anchor: Officials state that these suspects are involved with a still active death cult
Anchor: and are to be considered extremely dangerous.
Anchor: Do not approach.
Anchor: Report any sightings to authorities.
Anchor: We will keep you updated as the eyes of the world turn on the most wanted fugitives of the century.

Daimon paces off excitedly scheming as player leaves.

If player reports back to Illuminati faction headquarters

Player walks in on Kiersten Geary teleconferencing with four suited, menacingly backlit faces (three male, one female) visible on her laptop.

Geary ...yes, I...I understand, but... We couldn't have anticipated the Dragon doing...
Geary Even the Dragon couldn't have anticipated it. This Daimon Kyota is the x-factor to end all x-factors, a game-changer, he-

She pauses for their response and with her right hand catches blood from a suddenly occurring nosebleed. She stares at it.

Geary I understand.

She turns to the player.

Geary The talking heads above are...concerned. The Dragon got a leg-up on us in Tokyo.
Geary That can't happen again. We have to up our game.
Geary The early bird gets the worm, but the night owl has chunks of early birds in its pellets. Understand?
Geary We're going to play things differently in the future, and that future includes you.
Geary Consider this a vertical move on the holy ladder.

She approaches player and shakes player's hand.

Geary I'd say, "Congratulations, it's all going to be smooth water from here," but...

The player gapes at his or her hand as Geary rotates laptop on desk to show a video of a news bulletin with the banner "Breaking News: Tokyo Bombers Identified".

Kiersten Geary Welcome to the big leagues. Ciao-ciao.
If player reports back to Templar faction headquarters

Player arrives in Sonnac's office to witness him receiving a punishment beating from an armored Templar and a bald, dress-suited man in a white face mask. They notice the player.

Richard Sonnac: Where are my manners?
Richard Sonnac: May I introduce Pit (indicating masked suited man) and Pendulum (introducing amrored Templar). They are the baleful manifestation of the displeasure of those above.
Richard Sonnac: I'm sorry, gentlemen, I can never seem to remember: which one of you is worse?

Pendulum moves to strike him, Pit notes Dame Julia in doorway, and stops him - they withdraw

Richard Sonnac: Dame Julia.

Dame Julia gestures awkwardly and departs.

Richard Sonnac: Sin eaters...
Richard Sonnac: Grotesque duo, aren't they? Their embossed business cards read: "Necessary Evil."
Richard Sonnac: It would seem the Old Guard is upset, and some of them have more restraint than others.
Richard Sonnac: They think the Dragon got the upper hand in Tokyo. They're right, of course, but that misses the point.
Richard Sonnac: This is the point: you did the impossible. You are the New Blood;
Richard Sonnac: you are on the rise, and that makes them uncomfortable.
Richard Sonnac: Some will give you grudging respect. Some will desire you to fail.
Richard Sonnac: In the future, we will have to make a better showing against the Dragon.
Richard Sonnac: Right or wrong, the Old Guard will use any perceived slip against us politically.
Richard Sonnac: Do you feel that? The curtain falls. After a brief intermission, it will rise on a whole new act of our plot.
Richard Sonnac: You are the New Blood, and you've only just begun to rise.
Richard Sonnac: We are going to anger more than a few grey beards before we're done, you and I.

He turns laptop on desk around so player can watch a video of the news, with the banner "Breaking News: Tokyo Bombers Identified".

Sonnac stares at painting, politely allowing player to leave in silence.

Jeepers creepers! Hang on to your stilts. There’s been a change to the management. Now I have a smartphone, HO-HO-HO! This cat is going to be a little more hands on from the here on. I’m your dingle dangler now. No fortune cookie static! This is nonsense written with straight razors. The dragon shimmies down the sky ladder, and the dragon evolves – it grew a new mouth. Now, you need to flop in the shade until you beat the heat. Dig? Earth-bound angels and super corporations and the world fuzz are coming down on you. But don’t get grummy! The Blues and Reds will be all sour at the exposure. But that’s just another bit of chaos for us to find opportunity in. We’ll be hitting on eight in no time. Marquard probably thinks he got away on the sly. But he’s inherited you and me and a sack full of cackling woe. Whoa!

D.K.

Illuminati.pngIlluminati

The fuck. The. Fuck. You are all over the media. ALL OVER. Kind of takes away the mystique of "secret agent." The talking heads...well...I've never heard them chatter the way they're chattering now. THE FUCK! Ok. Strategic breath. Strategic drink. Lets regroup and focus on damage control. On one hand, you kicked up the hornets nest of a global conglomerate and club of evil angels from the dawn of time. Was a media smear campaign one of the plagues of Egypt? On the other hand, we sent you in there to do just that, and you survived. So you're still of use to the Scary Things From Upstairs. I can keep you on the good list. But you need to lay low while we figure out the next step. Marquard perhaps?

KG

Templars.pngTemplar

The situation has...escalated. You are not only known to the Nephilim, but the object of a media campaign. I cannot rightly say which is more frightening. The fallen angels are active. As you have seen, there are cliques, even within the Templars, who wish you, and by extension me, ill. I am proud of you. But you must keep a low profile for the time being. I will figure out our next move on the board. We cannot ignore Marquard. In the meantime, steer clear of Pit and Pendulum. Trust me on that. You might also consider changing your personal appearance. Your face is known, and there are forces that will be after you.
