Afflicted

Afflicted state is the term used to describe a player or enemy who is under the effects of a Damage-over-time ability.


Set Afflicted Abilities

Assault Rifles

  • Incendiary Grenade (Heavy Fire) - A TAoE attack that deals XX physical damage. Affected targets become Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals XX damage every second for 10 seconds.
  • Anticoagulant [1] (Support Team) - Your damaging leech abilities also cause your target to become Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals XX physical damage every second for 5 seconds.
  • Shoot 'Em Up [2] (Bombardment) - Whenever you hit with a Frenzy ability, the target also becomes Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals XX physical damage every second for 5 seconds.
  • Trigger Happy [3] (Engage) - Builds 1 resource for each equipped weapon. A single target attack that deals XX physical damage. If the target is Hindered, it also becomes Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals XX physical damage every second for 5 seconds.

Blades

  • Perfect Storm - Blade Torrent also causes the target to become Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 7 physical damage every second for 8 seconds.
  • Flight of Daggers - Whenever you attack, you gain a Flight of Daggers counter. When the counter reaches 5, you will hit 3 enemies in a 5 metre radius around you, dealing 49 physical damage. Targets will also become Afflicted by a damage over time effect that deals 11 physical damage every second for 5 seconds.
  • Sling Blade - Throws a blade at the target dealing 95 physical damage and causes the target to become Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 6 physical damage per second for 5 seconds.
  • Incision [4] - Whenever you penetrate, you also cause the target to become Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 11 physical damage every second for 3 seconds.
  • Enervate [5] - Whenever you are glanced, you cause the attacker to become Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 12 physical damage every second for 5 seconds.

Fists

  • Sharp Claws - <passive> Claw also causes the target to become Afflicted with a damage over time that deals 7 physical damage every second for 10 seconds.
  • Bloodsport - <passive> Whenever you hit a target it becomes Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 2 physical damage per stack for 3 seconds. This effect can stack up to 3 times. If you do a glancing hit against the target, this effect is removed.
  • Cage Fight - A PBAoE attack that deals 49 physical damage to 5 enemies in a 5 metre radius around you. Affected targets also become Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 13 physical damage every second for 3 seconds.
  • Gore You charge your target dealing 72 physical damage to 5 enemies in a 5 metre radius as you arrive. Affected targets become Afflicted with a damage over time effect hat deals 13 physical damage every second for 5 seconds.

Blood Magic

  • Corrupted Blood - <passive> Whenever you hit with "Boiling Blood", the target also becomes Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 2 magical damage every second for 8 seconds. This effect can stack up to 5 times.
  • Blood Spike - Consumes 2 Blood Resources. Can be powered by your own health. A single target attack that deals 73 magical damage and also causes the target to becomes Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 7 magical damage every 0.5 seconds for 8 seconds. If the target has the Blood Spike damage over time effect already, this ability instead deals 160 magical damage.
  • Infection - Chain: Jumps up to 3 meters 4 times, hitting up to 5 enemies. Consumes 3 Blood Resources. Can be powered by your own health. A Chain attack that deals 62 magical damage. Affected targets also become Afflicted with a damage over time effect dealing 8 magical damage every 2 seconds for 12 seconds. If an enemy dies while affected by this effect, it explodes, dealing 44 magical damage to nearby targets.
  • Transfuse and Abuse - Cleanses up to 3 damage over time effects active on you, and causes the target to become Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 8 magical damage every second per effect you cleansed for 7 seconds. This ability can only be activated when you are Afflicted.
  • Liquidation - Places an area around the targeted point that will last for 10 seconds. Enemies inside the area become Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 12 magical damage and heals you for 6 every second for 4 seconds.
  • Third Degree [6] - <passive> Whenever you penetrate, you build a Third Degree counter. When this counter reaches 3, you also cause the target to become Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 16 magical damage every second for 4 seconds.
  • Contaminate - A single target attack that causes the target to become Afflicted by a damage over time effect that deals 20 magical damage every second for 6 seconds. If the target is healed while this damage over time effect is active, it will perform a hit on the healer that deals 61 magical damage.
  • Left Hand of Darkness - Consumes 3 Blood Resources. Can be powered by your own health. Causes the target to become Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 35 magical damage every second for 4 seconds. If you hit the target with this ability again while this effect is active, the target becomes Impaired and unable to act for 1 second. This ability will apply a 30 second cooldown when the stun is applied.

Elementalism

  • Volatile Current (Spark) - <passive> Whenever you hit with "Shock," the target also becomes Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 7 magical damage every second for 10 seconds.
  • Mind over Matter (React) [7] - <passive> Whenever you critically hit, the target also becomes Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 9 magical damage every second for 5 seconds.
  • Flashpoint (Altered States) - A single target attack that deals 36 magical damage. The target also becomes Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 20 magical damage every second for 5 seconds. If the target is already Afflicted, it will cause 5 enemies in a 5 metre radius around it to become Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 20 magical damage every second for 5 seconds.
  • Chain Reaction [8] (Mortality Curve) <passive> Whenever you hit with Chain abilities, your target becomes Afflicted with a damage over time effect that deals 7 magical damage every second for 10 seconds.

Exploit Afflicted Abilities

Assault Rifles

  • Where it Hurts (Take Point) - Consumes all Assault Rifle Resources. A single target attack that deals XX - XX physical damage, based on the number of resources consumed. If you hit an Afflicted target, the target becomes Hindered and its movement speed is reduced by 70% for 4 seconds.
  • High Explosive Grenade (Bombardment) - Consumes all Assault Rifle Resources. A TAoE attack that deals XX- XX physical damage, or XX - XX physical damage to targets that are Afflicted. Damage scales based on the number of resources consumed.
  • Anima Vessel (Ground Control) - Consumes all Assault Rifle Resources. A single target attack that deals XX - XX physical damage, based on the number of resources consumed. An effect is placed on the target that returns health to everyone who attacks them for 6 seconds. If the target is Afflicted, the amount of health gained is increased.

Blades

  • Grass Cutter - Builds 1 resource for each equipped weapon. A single target attack that deals 47 physical damage, or 57 physical damage if the target is Afflicted.
  • Destiny - Consumes all Blades resources. A single target attack that deals 57 physical damage. If the target is Afflicted, it also applies a damage over time effect that deals 13 physical damage every second for 4 seconds.
  • Clearing the Path - Consumes all Blade resources. A PBAoE attack that deals 58 - 118 physical damage, based on the number of resources consumed, affecting up to 5 enemies in a 5 metre radius around you. This attack has a 40% additional chance to penetrate any Afflicted targets it hits.
  • Forking Paths - Builds 1 resource for each equipped weapon. A PBAoE Frenzy ability that hits 5 enemies in a 5 metre radius you, dealing 32 magical damage. For every affected target that is Afflicted, you are healed for 8.
  • Steel Palace - Consumes all Blade Resources. A PBAoE Frenzy ability that hits 5 enemies in a 5 metre radius you, dealing 59 magical damage. If any targets are Afflicted, you gain the Minor Ward effect, which reduces all damage recieved by 7.5% for 8 seconds.

Fists

  • Tear 'Em Up (The Wilderness) - Consumes all Fist Resources. A single target ability that deals XX - XX physical damage, based on the number of resources consumed. If the target is Afflicted, you also gain a beneficial effect that increases all damage dealt by 10% for 4 seconds. Tear 'Em Up gives you the Feral Regrowth effect, causing your next Fist resource consumer to heal you for XX - XX.

Blood Magic

  • Iron Maiden [9] (Malediction) - Whenever you penetrate a target that is Afflicted, you gain the Minor Penetration Chance effect, which increases Penetration Chance by 10% for 8 seconds.
  • Bloodshot (Malediction) - A single target attack that deals XX magical damage, or XX magical damage if the target is Afflicted.

Elementalism

  • Blaze (Zero Crossing) - A single target attack that deals XX magical damage, or XX magical damage to Afflicted targets.
  • Magnetic Wipe (Resonance) - A single target attack that deals XX magical damage. Also purges 1 beneficial effect from the target, or 2 beneficial effects if the target is Afflicted.

Passives Modifying Afflicting Abilities

Assault Rifles

  • Leech Therapy (Support Team) - Your leech abilities also trigger a PBAoE heal if the target is Afflicted. This affects up to 6 friends in a 5 meter area around you, healing for XX.

Blades

  • Fatal Flourish (Tearing of Sky) - Whenever you finish activating an ability on a target you have Afflicted, you build a Fatal Flourish counter. When you have 8 counters, your next attack will penetrate and reset the count.
  • Fortunate Strike (Crossing River's Edge) - Whenever you hit an Afflicted target you have a 10% chance to perform an additional hit that deals 21 physical damage.

Fists

  • Salt in the Wound (The Outback) - Whenever you apply Afflicted, you deal XX physical damage to the target.

Blood Magic

  • Unholy Knowledge (Sacred) - Increases damage dealt by damage over time effects by 10%.
  • Dark Potency (Profane) - Whenever you apply Afflicted, you gain a single stack of the Penetration Rating effect, which increases Penetration Rating by XX per stack for 8 seconds. This effect can stack up to 5 times.
  • Circulation (Possession) - Whenever you apply Afflicted, you gain a heal over time effect that heals for XX every second for 10 seconds. If the target is Impaired, the effect will also give you a barrier that absorbs 100% of incoming damage and dissipates after absorbing XX damage.
  • Vital Fluids (Transmission) - Whenever you apply Afflicted, you have a 15% chance of building 1 resource for your primary weapon.
  • Blood Bank (Transmission) - Whenever you apply Afflicted, you gain a stack of the Blood Bank effect, which increases the damage dealt by your damage over time effects by 3% per stack for 10 seconds. This effect can stack up to 5 times.
  • Gross Anatomy (Transmission) - Whenever one of your damage over time effects expires or is renewed, it will perform an additional hit that deals XX magical damage.

Elementalism

  • Aidelon (Zero Crossing) - Blaze has a 40% increased chance to critically hit Afflicted targets.
  • Molecular Exploitation (Altered States) - Whenever you hit an Afflicted target, you perform an additional hit that deals XX magical damage.
  • Criticality (Altered States) - Whenever you critically hit an Afflicted target, you trigger an attack which jumps up to 5 metres 5 times, hitting up to 6 enemies, dealing XX magical damage.
  • Toxic Affinity (React) - Increases the duration of Afflicted effects you apply by 35%. Afflicted effects you apply have a 10% increased chance to critically hit.

  1. Anticoagulant does not directly set Afflicted, but instead causes Leech abilities to also apply a DoT.
  2. Shoot 'Em Up does not directly set Afflicted, but instead causes Frenzy abilities to also apply a DoT.
  3. Trigger Happy only sets Afflicted against Hindered targets.
  4. Incision does not directly set Afflicted, but instead applies a DoT whenever you penetrate.
  5. Enervate does not directly set Afflicted, but gives you the ability to apply a DoT to any enemy that glances you.

  9. Iron Maiden is not officially classified as an Afflicted exploit ability, but it does take advantage of afflicted targets by giving you increased penetration chance for a short time after landing a penetrating blow.
