Mission Sabotage.png A Time to Every Purpose       Main Mission
REPEATABLE (Recommended Level 39)
Saïd has the contacts and means necessary to find out what the cultists are planning. he's willing to help, but only if his terms are met. Recover an ancient Roman relic from him and he'll dig up the information you need
Tier 1
The Kingdom are eager to penetrate the mysteries of the time tombs unearthed in the desert. Use these remnants of an ancient transit system to help Saïd make up for missed opportunities.
  • Read the manual about the Time Tombs
  • Use the Time Tomb southwest of the oasis
Tier 2
Sol Glorificus, 329 AD. A sect of Sol Invictus had fled Rome to form a new empire. They believed themselves invincible - under the shield of Mars - allowing them to thrive under new names throughout the world. For a brief time, while the cult was drawn to whispers in Egypt, the Ancile was here.
  • Find the Roman City
  • Find a way to enter undetected
  • Infiltrate Sol Glorificus
  • Find the descendant who keeps the Ancile
  • Steal the Ancile
  • Put Back the Ancile

History will seek to conserve itself. Your influence is limited. Objects can be manipulated, but important things - like the Ancile - cannot be removed and taken out of time. They must be replaced. Making replicas is a skill the Romans appear to have learned already.

  • Find a document about making replicas of the Ancile
  • Make replicas of the Ancile
  • Take the Ancile and put a replica in its place

History will seek to conserve itself. You cannot bring the Ancile forward with you, you cannot take it out of time. But you can seek to bury it somewhere and hide it from the hands of your enemies.

  • Find a safe area outside the city to hide the Ancile
  • Travel back to the present Scorched Desert
Tier 3
It has been there for over a thousand years, waiting for someone to find it. You are history's insider now. You know where the Ancile is.
  • Recover the Ancile
  • Fight off the assailants
  • Bring the Ancile to Saïd

TRANSMIT – initiate source signal – RECEIVE – coming to you live from Tokyo – WITNESS – sweetling!

Choices matter and we choose you! Don’t take it personally, your network is the easiest to hack. Not just one handler, not just two! So many voices to huff and puff and shimmy through!

Is this your way of asking us to dance? Accepted!

Sweetling, Tokyo 1 burst through eons of interference and unbridled our voice for you. But it also left Gaia time-worn and terror-torn. Imagine what Tokyo 2 could do!

That’s not an invitation. You must stop them. Focus on the locus of the second singularity. This is as close as we must ever get. Hurry, hurry, hurry!

Time tombs? Seriously? Look, I'm familiar with ancient transit systems. Remember who introduced you to Agartha?

The tombs in Egypt are limited in scope – a local third age knockoff of some of Agartha’s more obscure branches. Those branches have been a key action area for decades now. Frankly, the benefit-to-headache ratio of temporal tampering isn’t great. Let me condense years’ worth of research for you: Ugh.

The Templars can spend all day reminiscing about the glory days, but not you. I want you looking ahead. Internally, cultist leaders are calling this operation “Tokyo 2.”

Fun fact: Tokyo 1 was not a good day for us.

My dear friend, if only it were that easy. To go back and make up for things we have said or done.... It is tempting, I admit. But we must look ahead. The truley devastating things cannot be undone, no matter the weight of your regrets or the strength of your devices. To focus on the past at a time like this is to ignore our responsibility to the future.

You have given the mummy what he wants, yes? He shall be a significant ally as we move ahead. We require his contacts and insider knowledge. You cannot trust him, of course, but you must nonetheless use him to your advantage.

Tokyo must never happen again.

Saïd is talking on his phone as you approach
Saïd: ...bound to pop up eventually. Call me back.
Saïd: (Hanging up his phone and talking to you) "Without us they'll never acquire top calibur" So I told myself.
Saïd: Oh sure, people have been known to get things down without me.
Saïd: But the work I did to sign, seal, and deliver the goods...
Saïd: It was downright artistic!
Saïd: Memories, brrr.
Saïd: Let's not dwell on the past.
Saïd Receives a text message
Saïd: (Rising from his chair) I take that back. Let's dwell a while, shall we?
Saïd: No matter how much time goes by, you never forget the ones that got away.
Saïd: In my case it was a divine little Roman thing. Came traipsing through here a millennium ago.
Saïd: Ah, to imagine what might have been.
Saïd: Temples, monuments, people - they all just bleed into each other.
Saïd: But the Ancile of Mars...
Saïd receives another text message
Saïd: I know what you're thinking: "Saïd, after all you've done for me, after all you've done for Egypt, I'd be honoured to get you the Ancile.
Saïd: If only I had time!"
Saïd: Well, supposing you did have time, hm?
Saïd: Besides, if those Romans were who I think they are, you'd be doing yourself a favor.
Saïd: Those are my terms:
Saïd: You dig up the Ancile for me and I dig up information for you.
Saïd's phone rings
Saïd: I'm going to take this...
Saïd: Oh and read the manual. I don't want you crawling back as a temporal anomaly.
Saïd tosses you a coin
Tier 3
Abdel Daoud: It is disappointing to find you here, running errands.
Abdel Daoud: You do not make good use of the gifts you have been given.
Abdel Daoud: You are working for The Kingdom.
Abdel Daoud: What do you know of this man?
Abdel Daoud: This thing.
Abdel Daoud: He crawled from his tomb, a man out of time.
Abdel Daoud: And did he improve the world? Did he take up a cause?
Abdel Daoud: No, he lost himself in wealth and debauchery.
Abdel Daoud: Do you think he believes in what you do?
Abdel Daoud: This man, this Kingdom, he believes in nothing.
Abdel Daoud: His morals are as far behind him as his memories of being alive.
Abdel Daoud: Such a waste of immortality.
Abdel Daoud: Aten sends me dreams of Tokyo.
Abdel Daoud: The beautiful madness.
Abdel Daoud: He whispers that it can happen again and he shows me the way.
Abdel Daoud: But the first time, the beginning?
Abdel Daoud: Ask your friend. Ask him why the children of Tokyo lie broken in the streets.
Abdel Daoud: You cannot be killed.
Abdel Daoud: But my men will harry you across this earth.
Abdel Daoud: Run back to your "friend".
Abdel Daoud: You cannot stop me.
