Now that the ancient artifact has been retrieved, the demon and locust god Arbeh is exposed and vulnerable. It should be possible to banish it.

Now that the ancient artifact has been retrieved, the demon and locust god Arbeh is exposed and vulnerable. It should be possible to banish it.
Tier 1
Said indicated that luring the demon from its nest at the the Temple of the Sun God will be difficult. The cultists have almost certainly set up camp there. Getting past them is the first challenge.
  • Go to the Temple of the Sun God
  • Clear the temple courtyard of cultists (0/12)
Tier 2
Magical barriers block every entrance to the temple, but there must be a way in. Perhaps the elemental keepers hold the key to getting past the otherworldly walls.
  • Find a way into the temple
  • Find a way to cross the barrier
Tier 3
A demon has been summoned to protect the lower chambers of the temple. Getting to Arbeh means first getting past it.
  • Vanquish the Elemental Guardian
  • Proceed to the ritual chamber upstairs
Tier 4
Neither the locust god nor its ardent worshippers seem to have noticed the unexpected company. Find out how to use the artifact to destroy Arbeh.
  • Defeat Arbeh

Walkthrough

There are 4 tiers to this mission.

Tier 1/4

Tier 2/4

  • Find a way into the temple
    • Walk into one of the golden the barriers in the temple doorways
    • You will not get through, and will be afflicted with Burning (148 damage +4/sec for 10 sec)
  • Find a way to cross the barrier
    • There are four priests (Earth Keeper, Water Keeper, Fire Keeper, and Wind Keeper) surrounding the temple.
    • Kill them, and you will automatically get their "blessing" as a buff (Eath Blessing, Water Blessing, Fire Blessing, Wind Blessing)
    • Each buff lasts for 20 minutes
    • While you have all 4 blessings, you can cross the barrier downstairs.

Tier 3/4

Tier 4/4

  • Defeat Arbeh
    • Note: use the item given at the start to turn the worshippers into locusts you can kill
    • You can lure them down the stairs to prevent being hit by Arbeh too much
    • Once they are all dead fight Arbeh, you need to use the item on Arbeh also when he shields up.

Arbeh has been true to its name. In the sun's dark shadow it sought to increase its influence, to multiply.

This minor deity's attempt to extend its influence has been a meaninful test, for it has allowed you to accomplish - on a minor scale - that which you will soon have to accomplish again.

"When the sun ariseth they feel away" (Nahum 3:17).

Now that the locust god is gone, we must concentrate on the sun. Its warmth is what gave strength to Arbeh; unless it is stopped, it will inflame every demon in the desert.

To think that someone could stoop to worshipping Arbeh. Ugh. Go big or go home.

Brute Resources confirm that Arbeh is Old Testament, but don't let it go to your head. One of the old mages forgot to rein in a parlor trick and it slipped through the cracks of translation.

In the realm of Egyptian deity-banishing, you've accomplished the equivalent of swatting a bug. It was an ancient bug, sure, but we're not going to mount its wings on the wall.

Akhenaten's sun disk on the other hand - now there's a centerpiece.

Gladstone is delighted! It turns out Arbeh has roots in a very popular story, though one that has been slightly misrepresented after years of passing down.

Arbeh was, in essence, one of ten parlour tricks. While the nine other all dissipated back into their hell worlds, Arbeh clung. Now, stirred by the Aten's presence in the region, the locust deity sought to augment its power within that gauche tourist trap.

I hope you didn't have to pay admission.

Saïd: Pfft. Aten. I'm one to talk about overstaying a welcome, but, ah, this isn't its time any more.
Saïd: It's an ugly throwback from a darker age.
Saïd: An Egypt of obsidian monuments, baking sand, the most shocking violence and depravity.
Saïd: Oh you people don't know the half of it.
Saïd: But if you can't stand the heat, get out of the desert, I always said.
Saïd: And you did!
Saïd: The Illuminati, the Templars, the Dragon all scurried off with their prizes, like dung beetles after a camel race, and left Egypt to fend for herself.
Saïd: To overthrow a tyrant and chisel the forbidden names out of memory.
Saïd: Now the gang's all here again.

Bugs

  • This mission was temporarily disabled in Secret World Legends due to issues in the 2.1.2 update, a patch was released on September 22nd 2017. If you continue to have issues please contact customer service.[1][2].
